Founded in 1947,
we’re a privately owned, successful manufacturer of
point of purchase (POP) display products located in
Chicago. We are looking for a Purchasing Manager
with the drive, ambition and ability to effectively
source material throughout the world and help ensure
that all our projects are done on time and within
budget. This position is ideal for someone who
combines purchasing, people and paperwork skills and
wants a career with a company that cares for their
employees and customers.

A challenging
position where you will have complete
responsibility for the purchasing department.
This will include souring new vendors
(especially internationally), re-qualifying
current vendors and making sure we provide
quality products at the best possible prices,
creating and implementing new purchasing
procedures. You will be buying for in-house
production (steel, wire components); expediting
for on-time delivery, product, managing the
processes with one direct report and forecasting
a safe level of inventory. There will be some
(not extensive) international travel required

The ideal
candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree and 5 or
more years of international purchasing
experience in a manufacturing environment
(experience in sourcing from Asia highly
preferred). You must have excellent sourcing
and negotiating skills, good written and verbal
communications and strong computer skills.
Managerial experience and bilingual skills
(Chinese) are a definite plus.
